Camino de Santiago | Day 10

Santo Domingo – Belorado

15.39 | 154.56 miles

+1,361 | -944 feet

Today was rather ordinary day as we spent most of it walking a path adjacent to a highway. Except for all of the road construction, it was definitely not as scenic today.

My breakfast spot this morning.

We’re out of wine country and into farmland. It would have been pretty a few weeks ago when the crops were still in the fields and the many fields of sunflowers were still in bloom.

This would have been amazing a few weeks ago.

The mornings are cooler, and I needed to cover my arms this morning with my flannel.

I saw the font where Santa Domingo (patron saint of pilgrims) was baptized. Almost a thousand years later and his relatives come back here to be baptized at the same font.

I’m back in the auberge tonight, but my room only has six beds in it. They are already preparing dinner, and it smells delicious. I have a longer walk tomorrow because there was no room in any of the inns in San Juan. Hopefully, a good dinner and a good night’s sleep, and I’ll be back in the road early with wind and the possibility of rain.

Patron saint of the auberge?

Buen Camino.
