just

just one more time
he calls out
laughing
not because we haven’t done it a million times
but because just one more time says
I love you.

just one more minute
as I’m walking
away
not because our time together hasn’t been good
but because just one more minute says
I love you.

just one more
day, picture, cup of coffee,
kiss
not because we haven’t shared these already
but because sharing them again
just once more says
I love you.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. – John 15:12 (NRSV)

Today’s Five Minute Friday was written on a flight from Milwaukee to Denver. Others probably wrote theirs on the ground and you can read them here.
