Ironically, it seems that the areas of my life where I am most confident are often the areas that I also seek praise or positive feedback.
What do you do, then, when you live in a culture that is yours, yet foreign?
Here is where we are.
My life needs to be more like a standing yoga pose.
We live most of our life in Ordinary Time. Should we throw away our moments so easily?
Even in the labyrinth where we can’t take a wrong turn, we can still take a wrong step. It doesn’t take us off the path but we might miss the fullness of what God hopes for us.
Praise is a difficult thing.
Complete joy in the seeming absence of it. This is one of the mysteries of our faith.
When I set my measure based on others or the worlds standards, I might look straight but I’m always going to be a little bit off the plumb line.
Peter and the others, they may have been glad to see Jesus. Maybe they were comforted as they listened to Jesus teach while they cleaned their nets. Maybe they were pleased that Jesus asked to use their boat. Then Jesus told them to go back out and fish.
