A Prayer of Adoration and Confession  from Ephesians 4:1-6

Jesus, our Rock and our Refuge, we come to you in prayer. As the many members of your Body, we bring our joy and thanksgiving; our confession and supplication. As we read the headlines and our Twitter feed, we can forget that this world you created and called very good still is.

In this fractured world, teach us to live as people worthy to the call we have received. Regardless of our location or our occupation, may we live with all humility, gentleness and patience. May we accept each other with, and make an effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit with the peace that ties us together.

You are one body and one spirit, just as God also called you in one hope. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all, who is over all, through all, and in all. When we forget this, please guide us back to you.

Amen.
